Your vision will become clear only when you look into your heart … Who looks outside, dreams. Who looks inside, awakens. –Carl Jung

In the last audio I talked about personal boundaries and how they serve and protect your feelings and emotions. By building healthy boundaries you are also building a healthy emotional immune system.

What are emotions?

Emotions to put it very simply are a feeling within your consciousness about an event or experience.

The concept of emotions has been research in many fields of science such as, philosophy, sociology, biology, psychology and anthropology.

Now we are not going to go that deep into the understanding of emotions, all we need to do is to understand how healthy your emotional immune system is and how to get past the roads blocks such as worry, anger, and frustration that stand in your way of getting the life you want.emotional emmune sytsem

Emotions can be very tricky and the more you know about your emotions, the easier it will be to get the life you want. In the audio I talk about emotional pitfalls; I want to give you a quick definition about this phrase I used, so you will have a better understanding about how to be your own emotional detective.

Emotional pitfalls are thoughts or experiences that trigger a negative emotion to pop up. Our emotions are connected to our thoughts and past experiences, so when you have a negative experience your mind is flooded with thoughts.

Sometimes the first emotion you feel is not the true emotion seeded deep within you. For example if something happens that causes you to feel anger, chances are there are other emotions underneath the anger such as fear, worry, sadness.

It is important to put your attention on that feeling of anger at the time you are feeling it and then ask yourself:

“Why am I feeling angry about this?”

“What else do I feel?”

You want to get in the habit of peeling back you feelings to see what emotions are there. That way you will have a better chance of figuring out what is being triggered and how you can heal it and then move on from it.

I hope you enjoyed this belief explanation about the emotional immune system. Please feel free to leave me a comment below on your thoughts about emotions or any questions you have, I look forward to hearing from you!

Have an emotionally healthy day!
